DEADPOOL: Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller Talk Hard R Rating and Hyper Violence

DEADPOOL could be a game changer for the super hero and comic book movie genre because it's the first hyper-violent and completely outrageous character to get a solo movie green lit by a studio. However, DEADPOOL is not the first R rated hero to get a solo movie because there were a few before with the Blade and Punisher franchises. And what a coincidence that DEADPOOL star Ryan Reynolds also had a role in the third BLADE movie, too.

The big difference between Deadpool and Blade and Punisher is that DEADPOOL will have lots of humor along with lots and lots of blood and violence.

At San Diego Comic-Con last week, Yahoo! Movies spoke with DEADPOOL actors Reynolds and T.J. Miller and they both touched on the topic of the hard R rating and hyper violence.

Reynolds describes the film's insane hero as "breaking the fourth wall, ...meta aspect, being self-aware, ...hyper-ironized humor — he has to annoy everyone around him — and just a healthy splash of hyper violence.

Then, Miller followed it up by saying how DEADPOOL just lives in a world that is more realistic and therefore a little more raunchy.

“I think it’s less to try and be edgy or push the envelope or any hack stuff like that, and it’s more just that he lives and breathes in this world where they curse, drink and have sex. It’s a lot like, actually, real life.”

DEADPOOL being a hard R rating will continue to be a popular topic of discussion until the movie releases on February 12, 2016.
