ANT-MAN: A Larger MCU Connection at the End That Most Forgot About

Obviously ANT-MAN spoilers are in this. You've been warned.

As you know the ending of ANT-MAN is a funny little montage where actor Michael Pena goes into one of his bits telling Scott Lang that he heard the Avengers' Falcon is looking for Ant-Man. While this is a great way to end the movie on a fun note, there is a little part that not many websites have been discussing.

Actor Martin Donovan (who plays former SHIELD agent Mitchell Carson and seemingly now bad guy) acquires a small sample of Darren Cross's 'Cross particles' and gets away with it. This is not acknowledged at the end of the movie because when you last see Carson he grabs a vile of the particles when a deal with Cross goes bad at Pym Technologies.

Of course this is a storyline that will connect ANT-MAN to future Marvel Cinematic Universe events because things like this are done for good reason and to expand the MCU. Director Peyton Reed also confirmed, to CinemaBlend, that there was a slightly different ending to ANT-MAN, which involved Donovan's character.

"At the end of the movie he gets away and has these Cross particles, and there was a sequence where Ant-Man has an encounter with him. But then for a couple reasons, it felt like maybe we should leave those particles out there. In that original thing, he took Martin Donovan out and got the particles."

Perhaps this alternate ending will make it onto the special features of the Blu Ray release.
