Marvel Studios Head on Next SPIDER-MAN Movie: "We’re Interested in Seeing Villains We Haven’t Seen Before"

Could the next SPIDER-MAN movie feature a hunt or a mysterious illusionist? It's officially possible and that headline should make the majority of Spider-Man fans stand up and cheer.

According to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, via BirthDeathMovies, the next SPIDER-MAN movie will focus on villains who haven't been seen in a past Spider-Man movie.

"Right now we’re interested in seeing villains we haven’t seen before."

There's already been two versions of Norman Osborn in the past five Spidey films and there's already been two versions of Green Goblin and a New Goblin. Some Spider-Man fans probably won't like the implication that Osborn may not have a role in the Marvel Studios produced SPIDER-MAN movie. And it's a valid concern by those hardcore fans since Osborn is Spidey's most well-known villain.

My take on this comes in the form of showing my appreciation to Feige for taking this approach because I want to specifically see Mysterio and/or Kraven the Hunter in the next SPIDER-MAN movie before seeing Green Goblin or Doc Ock or Venom again. Although, I definitely would like to see the Marvel comics' Ultimate version of Green Goblin who is more of a monster and less of a goblin. And I cannot wait for Marvel Studios to eventually show their version of Venom because he is my personal favorite Spidey villain in his vast rogues gallery.

The still untitled SPIDER-MAN movie releases on July 28, 2017.
