BLACK PANTHER: Long Rumored Director Ava DuVernay Might Have Landed the Gig

It's been rumored since early May that 'Selma' director Ava DuVernay was in contention to helm Marvel Studios' BLACK PANTHER. Since then there hasn't been much follow-up on that story but today brings new word DuVernay may have landed the gig.

According to the website MCUExchange, their sources have told them DuVernay has landed the job. Not 'is in talks,' not 'is being targeted' but she "has been hired by Marvel Studios to direct the upcoming Black Panther film."

As of right now Marvel has not confirmed this. And no Hollywood trade sites, news outlets or blogs have corroborated the story. However, sometimes when information like this leaks out it is quickly followed by further corroboration.

Until any confirmation or other reports about this are released, take this as rumor for now.

BLACK PANTHER releases on July 6, 2018.
