CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Adds Actor Martin Freeman to its Growing Cast in an Undisclosed Role

In a perfect world, Marvel Studios would have added actor Martin Freeman (BBC's Sherlock, The Hobbit Trilogy) to the cast of DOCTOR STRANGE so he can join his Sherlock co-star Benedict Cumberbatch... and perhaps they could. But as of right now, Marvel has officially announced that Freeman will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in an undisclosed role in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

Freeman joins an already huge cast — which will continue to grow due to the nature of this film's source material — that will see Tony Stark and Steve Rogers on opposite sides of an adapted super hero registration act from its comic book universe story arc. Who Freeman might be is now a thing many fans will speculate about online in comments, forums and on social media until Marvel says.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR releases on May 6, 2016.
