STAR WARS: REBELS Season 2 Trailer Reveals its 'The Clone Wars' Connection; Plus it Has More Darth Vader

Star Wars: Rebels Season 1 was a slow burn because it had to introduce a new cast of characters into the official Star Wars canon. However, it ended on a really high note when it revealed a fan favorite character from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series had returned.

At Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015, the first trailer for Star Wars: Rebels Season 2 debuted and it was full of surprises. But before disclosing them, you should just watch it for yourself first.

Wow! There looks to be a lot more of Darth Vader in Season 2 and that's definitely a good thing because it was confirmed during the Rebels press conference at Celebration that he will be voiced by James Earl Jones.

Also, Captain Rex from Star Wars: The Clone Wars is back. Rex fought side-by-side with Anakin Skywalker for most of The Clone Wars series, so the potential for him to meet Darth Vader is something that should excited fans of the old animated series.

It looks like Rex is joined with some of his clone brothers, too. Specifically, Commander Wolffe could be seen in one shot and he is easily identified because of his eye injury. And don't forget about Ahsoka Tano. The fan favorite female was revealed at the end of Season 1 and is all grown up. She is destined to face her former Jedi Master, Anakin, albeit in his Sith Lord form at some point in Rebels.

These and everything else in the new trailer should increase your excitement level for the start of Star Wars: Rebels Season 2, which will premiere this fall on Disney XD.
