X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Casts Younger Nightcrawler Actor, First Concept Art Released & Pre-Production Images

The 1980s are the period where director Bryan Singer will bring back the X-Men to the big screen for X-Men: Apocalypse. Headlined by the First Class cast, the next X-Men ensemble film will feature actors Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and while he hasn't been officially announced yet... most likely Hugh Jackman.

Just a few weeks ago, Singer revealed who has been cast for younger versions of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops (post link at the end of this post). Now, he has confirmed who's been hired on as Nightcrawler. Actor Alan Cumming will not be reprising his role as Nightcrawler from X2: X-Men United because a younger, unknown actor has been brought on.

If you're not familiar with new Nightcrawler actor Kodi Smit-McPhee you're not alone. He's a newer face in Hollywood and his stock is sure to rise now that he's a part of X-Men: Apocalypse.

During production of X-Men Days of Future Past, Singer was actively posting behind-the-scene images to his Twitter account but for the new film he has been doing the same but on Instagram. Here's some pre-production images the director has posted for the new film.
