Will the DEADPOOL Movie Give Fans the Definitive Version of the Character?

Wizard World Cleveland Comic Con Report: If there is one thing that has been consistent with Deadpool it's that his costume has hardly changed throughout the years. There may be an extra pouch or strap changed here and there but the design of his suit has endured for 24 years. At creator Rob Liefeld's panel and he expressed his happiness about this.

Liefeld mentioned how Spider-Man has gone through so many different suits but Deadpool has maintained the pretty much the same version he created when designing the character in the early 90s. Side note: Deadpool has donned different colored suits like his blue/yellow X-Men suits and his grey/black X-Force suit but nothing like the many suit changes Spidey has gone through.

During the Q&A session of his panel, one fan asked Liefeld his opinion on how the character's personality has evolved over the years. The response briefly mentioned the excessive silliness of Deadpool in some of the hero's current comics but Liefeld also said the definitive version of Deadpool is coming very soon.

By this he means that Ryan Reynolds' performance in the upcoming Deadpool movie that starts filming in a couple weeks, in Vancouver. To be more specific, Liefeld said that he thinks Reynolds' portrayal of Deadpool in next year's movie will be the definitive version of the character.

How Reynolds' version of Deadpool will play out in the new movie is unknown. But fans only need to look at his witty performance as Wade Wilson (pre-mouth sewn shut) in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and in the leaked Deadpool test footage, which Reynolds wore a motion capture suit and did the voice work for.

Deadpool releases in theaters on February 12, 2016.
