Sony Hack: Russo Bros. Wanted to Produce a SPIDER-MAN Movie; Will Reportedly Direct AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, PART I & II

Another report from the Sony Entertainment system hack has emerged and this one is just as huge as the last one. This new one is being reported by Brazilian website, Overtice.com, so please note that there may have been some translations that come across not as accurate as the website originally wrote so their report will be paraphrased below.

Let's just jump right into this juicy report because it is about Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War directors, Anthony and Joe Russo. The brothers have a great relationship with Sony due to their producing, directing and writing work with the television series Community. Because of this, they have spoke with Sony co-chair Amy Pascal about Spider-Man.

In this new report from the hack, the Russo's allegedly emailed Pascal about becoming producers for a new Spider-Man film that Marvel Studios would have helmed while Sony distributed it in a potential partnership deal for Spidey which fell through before Marvel made their Phase 3 film schedule official. The Russo's wanted Pascal to have a discussion with current Spider-Man producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach stating it would be a difficult conversation for Pascal to have but it would be a "conversation worth having" because the Russo's really wanted to produce a Spider-Man movie instead.

Unfortunately, none of this actually happened but having the Russo's oversee a Spider-Man film could've been something special... look how great Captain America: The Winter Soldier was and the Russo's wanted Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War before Black Panther took Spidey's spot after talks between the studios collapsed. The Russo's also told Pascal, in another reported email, that they have already told Marvel Studios they'll helm both Avengers: Infinity War, Part I and II as well.

What's sad is the more and more hacked information that comes from Sony, the more Marvel fans may hate Sony over this Spider-Man franchise debacle and potentially not even see any future Spider-Man films by the studio. With this a plausible possibility, Sony should seriously consider selling the franchise rights back to Marvel and Disney when executive meet in January 2015 at their "Spider-Man Summit" before they risk releasing another bad Spidey film and the franchise rights value continues to fall lower and lower... and lower.

Or maybe this is Disney and Marvel's plan to let the franchise rights hit rock bottom value-wise so it can be bought back for dirt cheap or perhaps free. Stay tuned because this story continues to get more info reported as the days go on.
