Netflix and Marvel's LUKE CAGE Actor Want List Revealed; Will be Introduced in JESSICA JONES



Marvel's Daredevil is currently in production for Netflix (with an alleged premiere on the streaming service in May 2015) but next up after Daredevil will be another original Netflix series, Jessica Jones. In Jessica Jones, Deadline is reporting that Luke Cage will be introduced and he'll be in half of the series' 13 episodes but then will get his own series.

It is also being reported that Luke Cage will be the fourth series in Marvel and Netflix's 5-series epic which starts with Daredevil, then Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and finally ends with the mini-series ensemble The Defenders.

Also known as Power Man in the comics, Luke Cage is one half of the super hero team Heroes For Hire with Iron Fist. If you're not familiar with Cage's powers he has superhuman strength, stamina and durability with unbreakable skin, which is impervious to damage and temperature, and he has an accelerated healing factor. His comics origin consists of being a volunteer for an experimental cell regeneration procedure based on a variant of the Super-Soldier process. As every fan should know by now, this origin story may be adapted to be different in the series.

Deadline is also reporting that Marvel has set up its want list for actors in the lead role. The following are names are reportedly in contention to be Luke Cage: Lance Gross (Crisis), Mike Colter (The Good Wife) and Cleo Anthony (Divergent).

Stay tuned because more information about Luke Cage is sure to be right around the corner since he will reportedly be in Jessica Jones, which is next on Marvel and Netflix's docket to start filming and production after Daredevil.
