HULK May Not Have His Own Phase 3 Movie, But Marvel Promises He'll be in Many Phase 3 Films

Many fans are disappointed that there was no announcement for a new Hulk movie in Marvel's Phase 3 lineup. There's a big reason for this and I'll explain it as succinctly as possible. Universal Studios still owns the distribution rights for solo Hulk movies and Disney will not make any solo movie until they own those rights. [Click here to read more about this.]

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige spoke after today's Marvel Event in L.A. (via Newsarama) about Hulk's future in Phase 3, despite not having his own solo film.

"[Hulk] is going to appear in many of the movies announced today. Part of the fun of Avengers: Age of Ultron was saying, ‘you’ve seen another Iron Man adventure, you see another Thor adventure and another Cap adventure, but we haven’t seen the Green Goliath again. So that was important in the characters you haven’t seen – Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them – Ultron will make up for it."

In other words, until Universal sells back the distribution rights for Hulk to Disney, you'll only get Hulk as supporting roles in other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
