After Rewriting ANT-MAN, Adam McKay Says Talks With Marvel Studios Are Ongoing For a Possible Future Movie

Adam McKay might be best known for Anchorman, but he's about to take a big step into the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was targeted by Marvel Studios as a candidate to direct Ant-Man before Peyton Reed was hired and instead McKay rewrote the Ant-Man script (with leading actor Paul Rudd).

McKay has said there were many variables which prevented him from jumping into the director's chair for Ant-Man, which he said was unfortunate because he's a huge Marvel comic book fan. However, it seems like McKay and Marvel are talking now.

In a new interview with Crave Online, McKay confirmed he is currently engaged in discussions with Marvel Studios for a possible future movie project.

"I’m starting to get into the early stages with Marvel.
"I just did a big rewrite on Ant-Man with Paul Rudd and had such a great time working with them that we’re kicking around ideas. But yeah, maybe I would take on one of the characters so we haven’t locked in anything, but discussions are definitely going on."

Even though McKay did not provide further details or hints about which future Marvel Studios movie he could be in discussions about, there are plenty to speculate. McKay could be in talks for Black PantherCaptain Marvel, Inhumans or Thor 3. He definitely has his choice of potential Marvel projects.

Stay tuned because this is the first that's been heard about McKay and Marvel being in discussions for a future movie and this story will surely develop sooner than later.
