DAREDEVIL: Vincent D'Onofrio Says KINGPIN Inspiration Came From Frank Miller Art

Fans have already seen Matt Murdock on the set of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil, but they are still waiting to see Daredevil in full costume. Also, Wilson Fisk (a.k.a. Kingpin) has yet to be seen in full costume.

Actor Vincent D'Onofrio recently teased his portrayal of Fisk and he officially revealed his Kingpin-like bald head in his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video (see the image below). The former Full Metal Jacket actor spoke about which version of Kingpin, in Marvel comic canon, inspired him the most.

"I knew a bit about Wilson Fisk. I had seen the movies. I saw other interpretations," D'Onofrio said to Mens Journal. "But for this, they really wanted everything to be fresh. They’re operating like they have been doing their movies. I’m finding most of my inspiration for Fisk coming from the old artwork, artists like Frank Miller."

He then teased a little bit of what he's been filming for Daredevil and he genuinely seems to love his new role as a villain.

"Filming has been great. I can’t really talk about specifics. Really. But I can tell you it’s all working. It’s all gritty. Everything is really impressive... This Netflix series that we’re filming right now, it’s going to be so amazing to watch. We’re doing these incredible, iconic scenes every single day. I have the best character; I play one of the best characters I’ve read in a long time. I haven’t had this much fun with a role for many years."

Daredevil is currently filming in New York City and is set to stream on Netflix in May 2015.
