Rumor: Backstory For BATMAN in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Sounds Somewhat Questionable

Based on what was seen of Superman and his origin in Man of Steel, it makes sense that director Zack Snyder would want to adapt and change Batman's backstory in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But how much is Snyder willing to change the Bat?

Apparently a lot. In a new rumor report by BadAssDigest.com, their sources claim to have provided some brief backstory details for Ben Affleck's Batman.

"...[S]ources indicate that when BvS opens Batman has existed for close to thirty years, which would place Wayne in his 50s (which is why I expected more grey in Affleck's hair). In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he's had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume. "

By the sounds of this rumor, Robin is dead or has retired and moved on. Maybe he's moved on to being Nightwing in a future DC Cinematic Universe film.

Also it seems like this version of Batman is literally a shadow in the night. This would be fine if it wasn't already revealed in the Comic-Con 2014 sizzle reel footage that Batman has his Batsignal. If he was an urban legend and working in secrecy for three decades, why would he have his Batsignal? Seems like that would go against the fact he wants to stay in the shadows, as the rumor report implies.

In my opinion, something sounds a bit off in this rumor and until there's more information provided by Warner Bros., cue the grain of salt comment. I'm not here to discredit BadAssDigest's sources, I am simply calling into question some pieces of info in this rumor report.

Batman v. Superman is set to release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
