Fox Hurts X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Blu Ray & DVD Sales Before its Release by Announcing Extended Cut in 2015

What is 20th Century Fox thinking?!

X-Men: Days of Future Past was one of the studio's biggest box office hits and it's coming out on Blu Ray and DVD on October 14. Home video sales of the ensemble movie were expected to be huge for the holiday season but that could be in question now.

The reason being is Fox has announced that sometime in 2015 they will release an extended cut of the movie on Blu Ray and DVD. However, no further details were provided.

This question needs to be posed: Will anyone even buy it on October 14 now that an extended cut is coming? Many won't care and will buy it both times but there are many fans (this guy included) that will wait until that extended version is available.

Talk about hurting sales potential before it's even released. Fox should have waited until — and yes this would've been a crappy way to do it — after October 14 to announced the extended cut was also coming next year.
