X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Will Recast CYCLOPS, JEAN GREY and Storm; Plus Villain Hints

X-Men Days of Future Past is weeks away from finally releasing! And as Bryan Singer has done since it was officially announced the follow-up will be X-Men: Apocalypse, the director has been hinting at the next X-film.

While talking with Sci-Fi Now, the U.K. based site asked Singer if the 80s timeline for X-Men: Apocalypse is the perfect time to reintroduce and recast Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm with younger actors. His response was as simple as saying, “Yeah, exactly.”

Producer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg then added.

“In a way, it feels like from this point forward we can do whatever we want… but we’ll be moving forward with some of the actors from the First Class/Days of Future Past cast.”

So not only will X-fans finally get to see Apocalypse on the big screen for the very first time, but they will get to see Cyclops and Jean Grey once again since they were both killed in X-Men: The Last Stand. Plus a new and younger Storm too!

Also in an interview, via SuperHeroHype, Kinberg teased at the main title villain for X-Men: Apocalypse.

"We want to tell the Apocalypse story and there's massive scale and scope to telling that story. There's going to be set pieces that I suspect are going to be bigger than anything we've ever done in an X-Men movie before and he's a great character. The biggest and funnest challenge of the Apocalypse movie to me is his character. How do you create a new villain for the X-Men world that is as good as any villain that's come before, is compelling philosophically as Magneto, not just in his physical powers, but in his philosophical depth. 'Apocalypse' is going to be a fun movie to write and make."

X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled to release in theaters on May 27, 2016.
