GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Will Connect to AVENGERS 3 With Josh Brolin as THANOS

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the question of who will be Thanos. Ever since the cosmic villain was introduced in the credits scene of The Avengers, Thanos has also been confirmed to cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy as the villain behind the scenes instructing his general Ronan the Accuser (played by Lee Pace) to hunt down Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the others.

While this should be no surprise to hardcore comic book fans, the casual fan may not realize Thanos is masterminding things behind the scenes when it comes to locating all the Infinity Stones. He may have an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, via another possible cameo role, and finally reveal himself to battle Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers 3.

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy will set up Avengers 3 according to director James Gunn, in April. “We’re definitely connected to ‘Avengers 3,’” Gunn told EW (via Variety).

An adaptation of the Infinity Gauntlet comic book story arc is coming. And so far we know the Tesseract in now in Asgard and is the Space Stone. The Aether is with The Collector and is the Power Stone. And Loki's scepter from The Avengers was just seen with Baron von Stucker in the credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier which might be the third of six Stones. Plus, the orb seen in Guardians of the Galaxy trailers looks to be yet another Infinity Stone.

Getting to the point of all of this and to answer the question of who is portraying Thanos? That actor is Josh Brolin. Initially reported by Latino-Review, and since confirmed by Variety, Brolin is now Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest villain threat.
