Actor Stellan Skarsgård Steals Scenes and is Perhaps the Best Supporting Actor Performance in THOR 2

Last time fans saw actor Stellan Skarsgård, who plays Dr. Erik Selvig, he was an agent of evil possessed by Loki's mind control in The Avengers. While actor Tom Hiddleston's performance as Loki stole most of the show in the ensemble film, Skarsgård's performance was one not mentioned much. Same can be said for Skarsgård in the first Thor film, too.

"Selvig was held in that Loki trance a little bit longer and only popped out at the very, very end, so I think his repercussions [are very significant]," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in an interview with Crave Online.

In Thor: The Dark World, Skarsgård returns again as Dr. Selvig and if you liked him in his previous two outings get ready for his best performance yet. Unfortunately, Skarsgård won't be talked about much because of other elements, plot twists and happenings in the Thor sequel but Selvig steals all of his scenes.

Now here's your SPOILER ALERT so do not read the next paragraph and you can skip it to read the last paragraph. You've been warned.

Skarsgård running around naked at Stonehenge and then appearing later in the film without pants and in a Breaking Bad Walter White-like tighty whities scene are brilliant. Not to mention when he finally meets Thor again and asks if Loki is dead and is happy despite Thor's remorse of Loki's misdirecting ruse. And how about that other scene when Skarsgård appears to be teaching a class when he was in custody at a psych ward? Selvig is definitely having a tough time dealing with the aftermath of the God of Mischief being in his head.

Bravo to Skarsgård in Thor: The Dark World! While Hiddleston and Chris Helmsworth are surely going to make most of the headlines, The Daily SuperHero wanted to make sure Skarsgård received at least one headline of his own because his performance is one that shouldn't be so quickly forgotten.
