In a Deadline exclusive:
"They [Marvel] are keeping his role under wraps, but he’s playing a character that is built to be part of future Marvel films, which means he has signed a deal with options that put him into multiple movies."
Of course Marvel is going to keep his role under wraps for as long as they can but it doesn't take a genius to think the actor has been cast as the villain Thanos.
First seen in the post-credits of The Avengers, Thanos was after the Tesseract via Loki. In a recent interview, The Avengers and The Avengers Sequel writer/director Joss Whedon has already said that Thanos will be saved for a "big finale" and this implies he will see first-hand action in The Avengers 3.
Speculation, yes. But this is where every mind is going right now with this casting announcement.
Get ready fans, because it seems like the part of Thanos now has an actor attached!
