CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Confirmed to Film Big Action Scene During 2 Weeks of Cleveland Highway Closure

As Cleveland prepares itself for Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier film shoot in May, representatives from Marvel and the Greater Cleveland Film Commission met today with the city counsel to talk about road closures and the effect it will have on traffic. The biggest closure will occur for 17 days on the western entrance of the Shoreway and all the way to the East 9th St. exit.

Now it has been confirmed that Marvel will indeed shoot a large scale action scene along the 3.5 miles of highway closure. Also confirmed to The Daily SuperHero, by a source, is the length of the closure will be so long due to the extreme amount of additional daily costs Marvel would incur if they had to clean up the mess this particular scene will create. (The photo above is an example of the mess The Avengers created in Downtown Cleveland, when it shot there in 2011.)

In other words, and as we speculated, a chase scene with explosions and fast cars (maybe motorcycles) are expected to occur during the closure of the Shoreway.

Stay tuned as The Daily SuperHero is your source for information on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier film shoot in Cleveland.
