News is really heating up for Thor: The Dark World and not only does the God of Thunder have to deal with his half-brother Loki in the sequel, he will have some new foes. It was already confirmed Thor's main antagonist in the sequel would be the Dark Elf Malekith the Accursed and another villain (or maybe two) is set to take on the Asgardian as well.

Actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost) has been cast as both Kurse and Algrim the Strong, per Variety. In the comics—and remember the movies only follow the comics to a point—Algrim the Strong was convinced by Malekith to fight Thor but then betrays him and he falls into lava. However, Algrim's enchanted armor saves him but he is disfigured and has amnesia.

Only driven by his want for revenge against Thor, Algrim makes a deal to become Kurse who is then granted super strength, speed, stamina, durability and enhanced ability to track. Who gives Algrim this new power is where speculation can come into play, about the Thor sequel, since the Beyonder was the cosmic entity who gave Algrim the powers and thus created Kurse.

With Marvel Studios obviously going toward a more cosmic Phase 2 story arc, with the Thanos introduction at the end of The Avengers and the announce of Guardians of the Galaxy as a new solo movie, having a cameo by the Beyonder would make some sense.

It could be a big stretch to think the Beyonder could make an appearance in Thor: The Dark World but with the cinematic universe expanding in Marvel Studios' Phase 2, anything is possible. Unless Loki, Thanos or The Other (last two could appear via some quick cameo) show up and are the one who creates Kurse after Algrim's fall into the lava.

Anything is possible right now so let the speculation continue!
