Iron Man 3 Rumor: New Report Says Iron Patriot is Actually a Repainted War Machine

The cat and mouse game of news and rumors is full steam ahead during the production of Iron Man 3. Several weeks back, photos of the Iron Patriot suit were taken on-set and many assumed the actor inside of the suit was none other than James Badge Dale, who was cast to play the role of Eric Savin.

Now, per Latino Review, a new report has surfaced saying that it is indeed the Iron Patriot suit—it's hard to really miss that due to its paint job—but the actor who was wearing the suit in this leaked photos was not Dale and it was only a stunt man (the caucasian fellow in the photo below). The same report says the suit is actually a repainted or secondary War Machine suit.

Another part of this rumor also states how there is a shoulder cannon seen in the leaked photos of Iron Patriot and it is very similar to the cannon seen on the War Machine suit in Iron Man 2.

Of course Marvel Studios is keep their lips shut on all this right now so until the studio confirms or denies anything take everything being heard and said with a grain of salt but this journalist's initial thought of Iron Patriot being a villain in Iron Man 3 against Tony Stark and War Machine was one of doubt.

However, hearing that Iron Patriot could now be War Machine makes the thought of Iron Patriot being a potential secondary suit of armor for Don Cheadle's James Rhodes character makes a bit more sense since Stark has multiple suits as well. Marvel Studios is really taking liberties with their comic universe compared to their film universe.
