DEADPOOL 3 Director Teases the Status of His STAR WARS Movie

Right now with the actor's strike still ongoing... c'mon studios do a fair deal already... DEADPOOL 3 director Shawn Levy is still in a stalemate for next year's highly anticipated threequel. While he cannot work on production of the film without its actors and actresses, Levy can at least begin very, very early development on his STAR WARS movie project.

While speaking with Variety, he teased the following:

"When Kathy Kennedy brought me on board to make a Star Wars movie, her central mandate to me was 'I want a Shawn Levy movie. I want a story and a tone that reflects you and your taste and what you bring to your movies — with a Star Wars story.' So I have felt extremely empowered. We are in early days, unfortunately, because the development process was abruptly paused [due to the WGA strike], but I feel very empowered to trust my instincts in the development of this story and movie."

Sounds promising, for sure, but will his vision truly meld with Lucasfilm head's Kathleen Kennedy's vision for the future of Star Wars movies as she's had a heck of a time getting anything going since the 2019 release of STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. Fingers crossed because the world needs new Star Wars movies, especially highly unique ones like Levy is teasing.
