Tom Welling to Reprise SMALLVILLE Role For The CW's CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Crossover Event

The CW is bringing in multiple former Superman actors for this year's mega-crossover event which is as adaptation of the DC comic book event CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS. Actor Brandon Routh will once again be Superman, but he's not the only one returning to a previous super-role.

The latest confirmed addition will be actor Tom Welling returning to his role as Clark Kent from SMALLVILLE. This info has been confirmed by TVLine who spoke with executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville,” Guggenheim said in a statement. “Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it. So when we first started talking about ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”

The CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover event begins on The CW on December 8 with SUPERGIRL, followed by BATWOMAN on December 9, and THE FLASH on December 10. Then, a delay in the crossover will occur for the holiday season and it picks up with ARROW on January 14 and concludes with LEGENDS OF TOMORROW on January 14.
