X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Release Pushed Back Again, GAMBIT Gets 2020 Release Date, and DEADPOOL 2 PG-13 to Hit Theaters



Even though they are in the middle of a Disney buyout, Fox is still chugging along like a buyout isn't happening as they have moved around some of their Marvel movie release dates.

First up, according to Deadline, even though the trailer just was released the new X-men movie DARK PHOENIX has been pushed back nearly four months. This is not the first time this film has been pushed back and it will now open on June 7, 2019. This is reportedly being done so they can open the film in China to a bigger global audience, however, that has not been confirmed by the studio.

Next is the never-ending, trapped-in-purgatory, saga that is a GAMBIT solo movie. Even though the film still lacks a director — it's been through three so far — Fox seems to think this movie will finally have a chance to release on March 13, 2020 (doubtful). Producer Simon Kinberg recently said the film will have some basis in the romantic comedy genre... yawn.

Finally, DEADPOOL 2 is returning to theaters this holiday season but as a PG-13 release so more families have a chance to see the movie and so it can rake in more of that box office cash. Also, and reportedly, this is being done so DEADPOOL 2 has a chance to release in China, who do not like to show R-rated films. 

So to recap, DARK PHOENIX gets pushed back, somebody still thinks fans want to see a GAMBIT solo movie, and DEADPOOL 2 is trying to make more of that sweet-sweet profit... although there could be some new footage attached to the PG-13 release of DEADPOOL 2 as Ryan Reynolds teased the following image of Deadpool with Fred Savage...
