ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Surpasses Predecessor's Worldwide Total After China Opening

Box Office Report: ANT-MAN AND THE WASP may not be owning the domestic box office anymore, but it has seen a surge in its International ticket sales thanks to its opening in China this past weekend. The sequel was the fourth biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe opening in China to the tune of $69 million. Overall, it has brought in over $332 million overseas.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP opened domestically back in early July and it has taken in over $211 million.

Worldwide, the China opening has moved the sequel past the first ANT-MAN movie ($519M) as it has now amassed over $544 million. Not as huge of a number as the studio's previously released movies this year, but it was destined to be overshadowed as BLACK PANTHER took in over $1 billion and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR made over $2 billion.

Bottom line, moving past the first film's worldwide total means there is a much higher chance of getting a third Ant-Man movie in the coming years.
