INDIANA JONES 5 Gets a New Writer For a Rewrite Which Could Lead to a Release Date Delay

Dr. Jones may not make his current schedule deadline as INDIANA JONES 5 is bringing on a new writer for a rewrite.

Reportedly set to begin production in spring 2019, the film looks to be delayed as screenwriter Jon Kasdan, who co-wrote SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY with his father Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, will take a crack at rewriting the current draft of the script.

First reported by Collider, now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jon will be writing a new draft of the movie with both actor Harrison Ford and director Steve Spielberg still attached to the project.

Disney and Lucasfilm have not commented on the potential need to move from its current July 10, 2020 release date, or on the addition of Jon to rewrite the current script of the film.
