Where's Hawkeye? He's on His Own Journey in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR


Over the past few weeks Marvel fans, specifically Hawkeye fans, have been screaming on social media about the lack of Hawkeye in the marketing for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. He hasn't been seen in television spots, trailers, teasers, or movie posters for the sequel.

Fans and artists have made mock posters consisting of only Hawkeye(s), and other artwork, to show their love for Jeremy Renner's character even though he hasn't been seen in the lead up to the release of the ensemble movie.

Wait... there was one promotional image that did make its way online and it shows off Hawkeye's new haircut...


Otherwise, fans have seen nothing Hawkeye-related.  Although, directors Joe and Anthony Russo did provide s tidbit of information while speaking with CinemaBlend a few weeks back.

"Joe Russo: Coming out of Civil War, he's in the same position that Cap and Falcon are at the end of that movie. And Ant-Man. Coming into this movie, you know... Characters on Cap's side coming out of the Civil War, some made certain decisions and others made other decisions that led to different paths in them dealing with oversight in this movie in a different way. So Hawkeye's on his own journey in this movie 
"Anthony Russo: Yeah. He has a unique reaction to the civil war situation that puts him in a special spot in this film."

And now Anthony Russo has made another, albeit brief, comment to GamesRadar implying Hawkeye's role is a very important and one that may be closely tied to the story of the film.
“All will be explained when people see the movie. It’s all tied into the story.”

Finally, Renner is most definitely in the movie as he posted a video on Instagram when he wrapped several months ago.


This is probably all that fans of Hawkeye will get until AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR releases worldwide on April 27 and his role is fully revealed while you're in your theater seat.
