This is not an April Fool's post about a Star Wars and Marvel Studios crossover event including John Boyega's character, Finn.
This is an actual report from a panel Boyega was on at Awesome Con (via CBR, BoundingIntoComics) where he was addressing rumors claiming he could be in talks to play the role of Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to this report, Boyega has in fact met with Marvel. Although it was not specifically reported if it was with Marvel TV or Marvel Studios. Regardless, confirmation by the actor will only fuel the fires of speculation that he could be in the running for the role of Blade as many fans would are hoping right now.
Yet, Boyega also showed his support for seeing Wesley Snipes return to reprise his role as Blade.
Finally, the actor said if anything happened between him and Marvel it would be down the road. Which makes sense since he currently has commitments to STAR WARS EPISODE IX, starts filming this summer, as well as a possible sequel to PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING depending on how well it does in the worldwide box office.
