DEADPOOL Animated Series: Donald Glover Posts Brilliant 14-Page Script Retort at Claim He Was Too Busy To Do It

Donald Glover and FX are no longer attached to the adult-themed, mature DEADPOOL animated series that was green lit by FX for a 10-episode first season. After this news broke, some assumed Glover was too busy with his FX show ATLANTA, his music career as Childish Gambino, his role as Lando Calrisson in SOLO: A STAR WARS MOVIE, and whatever else is currently in his plate to work on it.

However, Glover took offense to the claim and he wrote a 14-page script retort yesterday to address it in glorious, hilarious fashion.

Here's the entire Twitter thread Glover uploaded with all the script pages...

UPDATE: Glover has since deleted his Twitter thread but what goes up on the Internet, stays on the Internet as someone on the Deadpool subreddit has uploaded all the pages and you can read them in the Imgur embed below...

It sounds like, and this is pure speculation on my part, the "creative differences" excuse in parting ways on the project was legit in that FX and Glover had a mature vision for it, but Marvel TV wants a different type of show in order to sell Deadpool toys to kids.

The morale of the story here is to never ever question Glover's work schedule. If he can throw together a 14-page script retort like this, then you can damn well be sure he would have had time to helm a DEADPOOL animated series, but the problem was not him or his schedule.

There are rumors Marvel TV may shop this series around to another network or streaming service or where ever, but let's hope it's not going to Freeform as Glover seems to insinuate. If this is the case it would not be adult-themed and would most definitely be a move to sell Deadpool toys to kids in the form of an all-ages, heavily diluted DEADPOOL series.

As much as I want a Glover / FX mature DEADPOOL series, I would be lying to say that I wouldn't still watch an all-ages Deadpool series because I'm just a sucker for the character and no matter how mature or all-ages his debauchery is.
