Conflicting Reports: THE BATMAN May or May Not Be a Part of the DCEU

KCRW (via EW) is reporting how director Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN movie, which will be a trilogy, will not be a part of the DCEU.

Confused? Yeah, we are a little bit too, so here's Reeves' comment to KCRW:

“Well, I have a vision for a way to do something with that character that feels like it resonates with me personally, and a perspective that can grow out into other things. When they [Warner Bros.] approached me, what they said was ‘look, it’s a standalone, it’s not part of the extended universe.'”

It sounds like Reeves wants to do his own Batman thing and that means having his planned trilogy not be a part of the DCEU. Yet, that is not confirmed as a follow-up report by THR claims the following:

"An earlier version of this story stated that Matt Reeves' The Batman was part of Warner Bros.' new label and would star a new actor as Batman, but it is unclear where that project will fall."

What is happening to Batman and the DCEU after JUSTICE LEAGUE is hard to say and it is unknown if Warner Bros. even knows any answers right now. So stay tuned....
