Vin Diesel Won't Play Black Bolt in Marvel's INHUMANS TV Show Because This Guy Will

Actor Vin Diesel has long wanted the role of Black Bolt in a hopeful movie version of Marvel's INHUMANS. But when the movie was pulled off its release date, and then became an ABC TV series, it was unlikely to ever happen.

Now, Marvel has confirmed HELL ON WHEELS actor Anson Mount will play the King of the royal family, Black Bolt, in Marvel's INHUMANS television series.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel TV, said. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
“Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life," showrunner and executive producer Scott Buck said.

Marvel's INHUMANS will debut its first two episodes in IMAX starting Labor Day weekend later this year. Followed by its premiere on ABC with added content to those two episodes. Mount joins Iwan Rheon, who will play Maximus, on the growing cast list.
