CW's BLACK LIGHTNING Lands its Lead Actor

Earlier this month word hit that DC's next superhero television series BLACK LIGHTNING would not be picked up by Fox. Instead, it would land at The CW alongside their other superhero shows: ARROW, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.

Today, we get word from The Hollywood Reporter that actor Cress Williams has landed the leading role of the new show. THR writes:

"The drama, originally developed at Fox but ordered to pilot at CW, revolves around Jefferson Pierce (Williams), who made a choice to hang up his suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend — Black Lightning."
