There Will be a Mystery to Magic in DOCTOR STRANGE

In THOR: THE DARK WORLD, technology in Asgard (and the Nine Realms) was explained to be more along the lines of Asgardian science instead of being their form of magic. Some Marvel fans were not happy about this being explained in this manner, but those same fans need not to worry about magic in DOCTOR STRANGE also being explained as science.

“Magic is magic in this movie. It's not something that's explained away scientifically," director Scott Derrickson told GamesRadar. "It's not something that's easy to define. As magic should be. Magic should be mysterious. There's mystery to magic and there's mystery to the tone of the movie. Mystery is a good thing.”

Magic, like the Masters of the Mystic Arts utilize in DOCTOR STRANGE, shouldn't be easily explained as being science. It should have mystery to it because this will allow Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange to continue to explore and learn more about magic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond the DOCTOR STRANGE movie.

DOCTOR STRANGE releases on November 4.
