DEADPOOL 2: New Tease Could Hint the Villain Black Swan Might be in the Sequel

Maybe this is coincidence, or maybe it's intentional, but the DEADPOOL Instagram account just posted an image of the Merc With a Mouth's expenses — since today is the deadline for U.S. taxes to be filed. On this expense receipt is a purchase for the comic book Deadpool No. 65.

Here's the image.

Black Swan in Deadpool No. 65
Published in 2001, Deadpool No. 65 follows Deadpool as he is contracted to assassinated members of the Asian mobsters called The Four Winds. Deadpool kills them all so another hit is put out on another mobster named Black Swan. This is a hit Black Swan puts out on himself to lure Deadpool to come to him.  Black Swan is a mutant who has the ability to implant a psionic virus into others and he does just this and "turns off" Deadpool's healing factor.

Now let's speculate.

Sure this could all be coincidence but why else would the DEADPOOL movie account even add this little tidbit? It's either just to be funny because Deadpool buys his own comics... or... it is being purposefully done because the script is being written right now. Or maybe it's just a way to throw fans off the trail of what the movie could be about.

Whatever the case is here this is a well-placed Easter Egg and it could have some influence on part of the story that writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are putting together for DEADPOOL 2. In DEADPOOL, he was looking for a cure so maybe the Black Swan is the next villain in line who promises Wade Wilson a cure for his disfigurement and then betrays him.

And don't forget that while Black Swan has a psionic mutant ability and there is another mutant who has some psionic abilities too... Cable.

Just saying.
