STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS - Andy Serkis Teases Supreme Leader Snoke Details

Motion capture actor Andy Serkis has one of the most mysterious roles in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Hardly anything is known about his character, Supreme Leader Snoke, except he is a villain who is somehow associated with Kylo Ren.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Serkis didn't even know how the character looked while he was acting the part on set.

“It’s the first time I’ve been on set not yet knowing what the character’s gonna look like. I mean talk about secrecy! When we first started working on it, he had some rough notions of how Snoke was gonna look, but it really hadn’t been fully-formed and it almost came out of discussion and performance.

But who is Snoke?

“Supreme Leader Snoke is quite an enigmatic character, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being quite powerful. Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose.”

The following is a brief description of Snoke, who is rumored to be reptillian and/or snake like in appearance, by Serkis.

"He is large. He appears tall. And also just the facial design – you couldn’t have gotten there with prosthetics. It’s too extreme. Without giving too much away at this point, he has a very distinctive, idiosyncratic bone structure and facial structure.”

In the end, Serkis says whatever leaked concept art you may have seen of Snoke are all old designs since the villain's look has evolved during filming and post-production. And you won't see his final look until you're in your theater seat next month.

And for those Star Wars fans out there who recently read a wild fan theory from Reddit that Jar Jar Binks could be Snoke — totally worth the read, by the way! — there's still a chance as long as Lucasfilm doesn't reveal the character's look. (Hehe!)
