Writer and Director Brad Bird Updates Progress on THE INCREDIBLES 2

It's been over a decade since THE INCREDIBLES released in theaters and it was a different time for the super hero genre in Hollywood. Still in it's infancy the main comic book movie franchises out at that time were SPIDER-MAN, X-MEN and BLADE.

Fast-forward to today, comic book films are the big money maker in Hollywood and it's only getting bigger in the next five years as dozens of comic book-based films already have release dates set in advance. One of those super hero films is THE INCREDIBLES 2 — official release date and year has yet to be announced — which has writer/director Brad Bird back at the helm for the sequel.

In an interview with Collider, Bird teased progress on THE INCREDIBLES 2.

"I have the story arc. I’m probably three-quarters through the script, first pass through the script, but we’re already boarding parts of it. I’ve got a lot of people that worked on the first one working on it, so we’re all having a good time with it."

Not much is really known about the sequel except Bird is back with the franchise he launched in 2004 and its first teaser poster was revealed in August at Disney's D23 Expo 2015 in Anaheim.
