BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: Zack Snyder Debunks Robin Rumor and Says Most Rumors "Have No Idea What They Are Talking About"
You have to love when a producer or a director goes directly to the media to debunk some of the wild and ridiculous rumors that make their way online. BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE director Zack Snyder has done just this in a new interview with Yahoo!Movies.
"There are so many [rumors], it’s insanity. It’s funny because every now and then someone will touch on something that’s kind of true, but the next thing they say makes me realize that they took a wild guess. They’ll say something and I’ll say 'Oh snap, they must have seen the script.' And then they’ll say, 'And this happens!' And then I’ll go, 'They have no idea what they’re talking about.' It’s fun for everyone to speculate and take shots and think of things and try to sell it. There’s an industry in selling your guess. [People think], 'I’m going to make a fake script and look like I read the real one. What length are you willing to go?'"
Snyder makes a great point about how some website are simply just selling their guesses disguised as rumors. Without naming any names, you probably name several sites without thinking too hard who do this all the time.
Then Snyder addressed a recent and crazy rumor about his son being Robin in the film.
"There’s a rumor that my son is [playing] Robin. It’s not true. Now there are all these images of him that people have made where he’s dressed like Robin. It’s fun..."
So there you go. Another reason to not believe every rumor you see online, especially from sites who seem to only post rumors daily. That's called super hero sensationalism than being a legit news outlet. Just because some site says it's a rumor it doesn't mean it's worth paying attention to, however, there are some rumors worthy of discussion because it's just an interesting topic.
