JUSTICE LEAGUE: Zack Snyder is Running the Point For the DC Cinematic Universe and its Main Story Arc

Based on this report there should be no doubt MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE director Zack Snyder is in control of Warner Bros.' DC Cinematic Universe. At least when it comes to the JUSTICE LEAGUE.

(Or is it called the DC Extended Universe? No firm confirmation has been given on this.)

Unlike Marvel Studios where president Kevin Feige is the ultimate editor-in-chief of the basic story arc of every film made, Snyder seems to just be in control of the DCCU main story arc which consists of the path to the JUSTICE LEAGUE films.

In an interview in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, via CBM, Snyder spoke about how the DCCU is aligned and how the other directors can play in the giant DCCU sandbox.

"We call it the sandbox. It has borders around it, but everybody gets to play in the sandbox. On Suicide Squad, David Ayer has a lot of specific control over his area of the sandbox. Even if he crosses the line a little bit, we see if we can push our boundaries back a little bit.
"I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe. I have given everyone amazing access to our story, to me, and what we are doing. All the films have like minded conceptual jumping on points."

It may be a giant sandbox where directors can play with their own auteur style in their respective films, but there are still some constraints when it comes to fitting into the larger JUSTICE LEAGUE story concept.

"What we are doing is ground up all the way. It is one giant story. The first thing we had was the Justice League concept. The other movies, in a way, have to support that. That is our Wonder Woman, our Aquaman. They have their own creative concepts that supports them, but they do serve Justice League in the coming together of those heroes."

He might not have outright said it but it seems obvious that all things DCCU really go through Snyder to ensure the movie universe is cohesive.
