DEADPOOL Story Details Teased and He "Knows He's in a Comic Book"

DEADPOOL might be one of the most unique comic book and super hero movies ever created when it releases on February 12, 2016. Not only will it be rated R but it will have highly mature content throughout.

Actor Ryan Reynolds spoke with MTV News and confirmed Deadpool knows he's in a comic book, plus more.

“It’s a character that knows he’s in a comic book. He’s not only incredibly pop culture relevant, but savvy. To me it feels like we’re making not just a comic book movie, but a historical record that can capture the zeitgeist as it is right now in film.
“There’s lots of stuff in there that people are going to love and get. And then there’s lots of things in there that, maybe [for] some of the audience that’s not initiated to Deadpool, might go over their head.”

In the bonus San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Entertainment Weekly issue — that is only available at SDCC — the website goes into some story details for DEADPOOL. Including claiming the anti-hero will not deal with schizophrenia, or voices in his head, as he does in the comic book universe

EW writes:

"The movie (out Feb. 12) traces how terminally ill Wade Wilson becomes Deadpool, acquiring a Wolverine-like ability to heal and a pair of magic katana swords named Bea and Arthur in the process. He falls for a pole dancer named Vanessa (Morena Baccarin ofHomeland), while also battling the psychotic Ajax (Ed Skrein, erstwhile Daario on Game of Thrones), another maniac mercenary with a vendetta. Former MMA fighter and actress Gina Carano appears (no stuntwoman needed) as a character from the X-Men comics named Angel Dust, and 6’ 10” stuntman Andre Tricoteux (ditto) plays her fellow mutant Colossus"

Hope you're ready for DEADPOOL because the amount of hype this movie is starting to generate at SDCC makes it seem inevitable this movie will be a huge box office hit. It also helps that the DEADPOOL production budget was approximately one-quarter the amount of most comic book movies that are made nowadays.

Since DEADPOOL doesn't release for a while, you have plenty of time to go out and get Deadpool comics or download them to catch up and get to know the anti-hero also known as the Merc With a Mouth.
