Chris Hemsworth Confirms 2 More Films as THOR After AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on His Marvel Studios Contract

One of the most asked questions by Marvel fans is how long an actor has left on his/her current contract. Marvel Studios is known to lock their leading heroes and villains into long term contracts that usually consist of 6- or 9-picture deals. What this means is that if Marvel wants to use an actor for his/her character in multiple films, they have it written into the initial contract offer.

Currently it's known that Marvel Studios' biggest actor, Robert Downey Jr., is only signed on for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers 3. Meanwhile, Chris Evans still has two more films left on his current contract after Age of Ultron. Even Jeremy Renner has one film left after The Avengers sequel, along with another option for either a solo Hawkeye movie or a supporting appearance in another Marvel film. (Just to name a few.)

But what about Chris Hemsworth as Thor? The actor spoke to The Morning Show about it (see that full video interview below).

"I still got three more [films] in my contract that I need to finish off but I love playing the character," Hemsworth says. "It's three times I've played the character now [and this] has made me look at it in a different way."

In order to alleviate any potential confusion, Hemsworth is not including Avengers: Age of Ultron when he says he has three more films left on his deal. So after The Avengers sequel, he has two more movies as Thor. Hemsworth signed a 6-picture deal and he has been in: Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and next summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron. That make four total films as Thor, hence two more films left as the God of Thunder.

Avengers: Age of Ultron releases in theaters on May 1, 2015 and Thor 3 is currently being scripted by Christopher Yost.
