Report: BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN is a Superman Film Not a Batman Film and Should Set Up Batman Films After

Another day, another report on Batman vs. Superman!

This time it is from one of the most reliable Batman news websites on the Internet, Batman-on-Film. In a new post by the founder of the site several topics surrounding the Man of Steel sequel and beyond were discussed.

First up, is a response on how the Man of Steel sequel is definitely a Superman film. Even though Batman and Wonder Woman are to be in the film, Batman's inclusion is to potentially set the Caped Crusader up for future solo movies in Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's new super hero movie universe.

"I’ve learned not to assume a film is 'crowded' based on the number of characters included. Was THE DARK KNIGHT or THE DARK KNIGHT RISES too crowded? I’ve been told that BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN – or whatever it ends up being titled – is truly a Superman film. The film’s bad guys are Superman villains and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel/Clark Kent is the main character. Of course, Batfleck will play a major role in the movie; but I suspect that one of the main reasons for Batman’s inclusion is to establish a new “DCU on Film Batman” and set up future solo Bat-flicks. Same goes for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman — though I think her role is much smaller than BA’s Batman."

So it's a Superman film. Make sense since it's touted as the sequel to Man of Steel by the studio. Plus, one of the villains is said to definitely by Lex Luthor.

"Yes. And sorry, I'm not at liberty to reveal the ID of the other villain at this time...but the character is highly rumored to be in the film."

In other words, the rumors about Doomsday, Brainiac and Darkseid won't be going away just yet. And to read the rest of this post over on Batman-on-Film, click right here to go there.
