With the Rumored Hero List Growing, is BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Really a JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie? [Probably Not]

Is the unofficially titled sequel to Man of Steel—which continues to be referred to as Batman vs. Superman until Warner Bros. says otherwise—really a Justice League movie? It is seriously starting to sound this way because over the past few days so many hero names are rumored to be showing up in the 2015 blockbuster film.

Let's just dive right into this rumor mill overflow.

About a month ago, Wonder Woman was rumored to be in Batman vs. Superman (BvS). Variety has reported there are multiple female actors who are in the running for this rumored role... or this could just be for the supporting role of Bruce Wayne's love interest. Until Warner Bros. says anything, which they haven't, it seems more likely to be the latter.

This isn't a Trinity film starring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman unless the movie title changes and it probably won't because further development of Superman is indeed along with the reboot of Batman. Add in Wonder Woman and that's seems a bit too much to put into this film. (Plus don't forget to add in telling some kind of brief origin for the movie's main villain, too.)

Moving on to the next rumor which says Dick Grayson, Batman's sidekick Robin at one point in the comic, will be introduced as Nightwing. This rumor is being reported as a rumor by Latino-Review, which is telling since they rarely label things like this as a rumor. So a ton of salt in being thrown on this one. Side note: It would be cool if Nightwing was introduced in Warner and DC's movie universe with actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt continuing his role from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy as Nightwing in a standalone film instead.

Next up is the Flash. Already being introduced is the television show Arrow this season, and getting his own spin-off series after, the Fastest Man Alive is also rumored to show up. This seems a little less likely since he is confirmed to be going TV in Arrow and beyond. But then Arrow could crossover too.

So many rumors and now is the time for some rumor control. This film, as said earlier in this post, is about further development of Superman and bringing Batman into this new DC movie universe. However, this does not mean one (or more) heroes may have a cameo in some sort of Easter Egg to tease about the future of the DC movie universe. Yet, having Wonder Woman and Flash and whomever showing up as heroes in this film seems like an overload.

Maybe this happens but DC needs to take baby steps in building up their super hero movie-verse and resist the urge to throw too much into one film since it could do more harm than good. Marvel Studios may be putting pressure on DC to get things rolling with their super hero stable of characters and even if this is the case, baby steps are the most logical approach as of right now.

Unless Batman vs. Superman is really the Justice League movie... and if so, where's the Aquaman rumor?! (That man can never catch a break, not even in the rumor mill.)
