THOR: THE DARK WORLD Actor Tom Hiddleston Says LOKI Has "Another Trick" in the Sequel

Marvel Studios' marketing campaign is in full swing for this November's Thor: The Dark World. The big bad of the movie is assumed to be actor Christopher Eccleston's Malekith the Accursed and his Dark Elves but there is another villain who is in play as well.

Actor Tom Hiddleston (this is where the ladies start screaming for the actor) is also reprising his role of Loki in the sequel and his fallout from the events in The Avengers will be addressed. Last time fans saw Loki he was with Thor, in shackles, and being transported back to Asgard with the Tesseract at the end of the ensemble movie.

In the first trailer for Thor: The Dark World, Loki is seen in prison and Thor comes to visit his half-brother to ask for his help. The look on Loki's face when Thor asks for help is a hint at the villain's insane trickery. It's appears Loki may have been waiting for this moment and he is really the main villain working some angle for his own benefit, in Thor 2.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hiddleston briefly touched on the topic of Loki in Thor: The Dark World and how his character is changing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Oh, I’ve got plenty to do in ‘Thor [2],’ believe me. A lot of new stuff. It’s a new iteration of the character. It’s a new development. Another trick, another poker game for the god of mischief. And he plays it well.”

Definitely sounds like Loki could be manipulating Malekith in some way or he teams up with the Dark Elves leader at some point in the new film. Stay tuned as Marvel will release the next Thor: The Dark World trailer on Wednesday August 7.
