LOKI's Role in THOR: THE DARK WORLD is Expanding With Post-Production Reshoots

Sometimes fans will hear the word 'reshoots' and they freak out thinking a film is not working out in post-production and could be in trouble. However, unless there is a change to the release date this knee-jerk reaction is unnecessary since most films have reshoots during the post-production process.

Thor: The Dark World hasn't delayed its November 8, 2013 release date and has had reshoots over the past few weeks. None of this should be a concern for Marvel fans and director Alan Taylor spoke about the reshoots (via Collider.com) to ease any fan concerns at Disney's D23 Expo, this past weekend.

"We were doing full scenes; scenes that were not in the movie before, we're adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time. The one [involving Loki] was a fun connective scene that was just... we realized how well Loki was working in the movie. So, we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing; it was like 'oh we could do this or jam this in here' because he's just a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff. And boy do [the fans love him]."

As you can see, some of the Thor 2 reshoots are to actually add more scenes to the movie as Taylor says was done with Loki. Speaking of the God of Mischief, it actually sounds like his role has expanded with the additional scenes and makes the theory that he could be scheming behind the scenes for all the events in Thor's sequel a bigger reality.
