Iron Man 3 SPOILER: New suit could be laying groundwork for The Avengers 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy
Friday, January 25, 2013
One of the biggest problems with keeping secrets in Hollywood is the fact many studios license out their movies as toys to toy companies. These toy companies then, in turn, release the toys several weeks before a movie officially releases in theaters. This can create some plot spoilers.
Iron Man 3 might have just had this happen. The other day, Funko revealed their new Iron Man 3 line of vinyl figures at the London Toy Fair. So here comes your SPOILER ALERT!
Funko's POP Marvel figure was labeled as a Deep Space Suit. To see this new Iron Man suit click here or here. (Funko is making websites take down this toy photo, which makes the assumption in this post hold some weight.)
What does this mean for Tony Stark in the new movie?
Maybe he creates, and dons, this new deep space suit, maybe not, but one thing is for sure and that is you can't be sure toy lines match up exactly with what happens in a movie. However, this space suit is intriguing because in the comics Stark just created a new space suit too.
In the comics—now here's your Marvel NOW comics SPOILER ALERT—Stark realizes there is much more to see and do in the universe so he creates a new space suit in issue No. 5. This is the set-up for the new launch of a Guardians of the Galaxy comic in February. See the connection since Marvel's Phase 2 of its cinematic universe will also have the Guardians of the Galaxy?
Maybe this is only coincidence since the movie universe only takes pieces parts from the comic universe and fills in the rest with new content.
May 3 can't arrive soon enough.
