Just when you thought fans and collectors of the Marvel universe couldn't get more passionate/insane about their favorite heroes, Marvel Studios dropped a bomb and announced an Ant-Man movie is green lit for a possible 2015 release during their panel at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con.

With this announcement has brought a huge increase and want of all-things Ant-Man in the collectible world. Starting with his first appearance in Tales to Astonish No. 27 which is nearly pushing the $2,000 mark regardless of if the comic book itself looks like it was part of the many explosions in The Avengers movie.

It doesn't stop there with books. Over on Amazon, the Essential Ant-Man Volume 1 trade paperback and the Marvel Masterworks Ant-Man, Giant Man Volume 1 collections are sold out and not available straight from the online retail giant. So the price is already pushing $40-plus to those who want to buy some of the early classic stories with Ant-Man in it.

Not to far behind are nearly every trade collection about The Irredeemable Ant-Man, which is one of the more modern versions of the character even though writer/director Edgar Wright is expected to go with the more traditional Ant-Man character of Dr. Henry Pym.

It doesn't stop over on Amazon either. When you head over to eBay, you will see that Ant-Man figures from the older Marvel Legends figure to a newer two-pack Marvel Universe figure all going up in price and the Marvel Legends figure is selling for about $40 brand new and sealed in its original packaging, for now.

In other words if you want anything Ant-Man, then you need to buy it now before the prices keep going higher and this is only a small sample of the all the Ant-Man reading and collectibles that are available online.
