Can we say we called it? Back in March we wrote an opinion column saying how the reboot of the Spider-Man movie and a future Venom stand-alone movie should eventually come together Avengers-style.

Now it sounds like this is the plan Sony could follow.

According to Hollywood.com, The Amazing Spider-Man producer Avi Arad spoke in-depth about a solo Venom movie which will be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle).

"It's an Eddie Brock story," Arad said. "We want to be as close to the comics as possible. Especially in Eddie Brock's story. But again, pseudo-science is becoming science. All these tidbits about webs, artificial webs, is a huge industry now. Spiderwebs have unique qualities that will be huge for communications, fibers, and so forth. So we have taken the approach that we want to make the huge amazing movie about Eddie."

Fello producer Matthew Tolmach went more into the basis of Brock's story in the same interview.

"He was a journalist," Tolmach said. "He had the wrong story, he got in trouble for it, he got fired."

Tolmach also said something that leads this journalist to believe the newest version of Spider-Man could indeed see Venom in a future movie that would be all action since both their origins would have already been told in solo films, a la The Avengers.

"What I'm trying to say to you without giving anything away is hopefully all these worlds will live together in peace someday," Tolmach said.

If all this actually happens, you'll once again hear a big "We called it!" from us here at The Daily SuperHero. Haha.
