Actor Steven Yeun Exits Marvel's THUNDERBOLTS Movie

Marvel Studios' casting department has taken a hit as Variety has confirmed actor Steven Yeun is no longer attached to the 2025 ensemble movie.

Variety writes:

"Steven Yeun is no longer involved in Marvel’s upcoming 'Thunderbolts' film, Variety has confirmed.

"Marvel never officially confirmed Yeun’s casting, which was first reported back in February, and it’s unclear whether the undisclosed role is being rethought or will simply be recast."

Back in November, THE WALKING DEAD and INVINCIBLE creator Robert Kirkman let it slip in an interview that Yeun would/could be playing the role of Sentry in THUNDERBOLTS, but now that he is no longer a part of the cast it has to be assume one of two things is happening. The role will simply be recast, or the role is changing as the studio has pushed the film back to a summer 2025 release and the script and story are being reworked for a different character altogether.

No word yet on which is happening, but this ensemble film will need a strong villain character to go up against that is worthy of such a cast to come together to fight off whoever the antagonist is.
