Marvel Studios Head Officially Confirms DEADPOOL 3 to be Rated R

Ever since Disney bought all the rights to all-things Fox films and TV (and more), there has been the ongoing question as to whether or not the next movie starring Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool would be rated R. Disney's then CEO Bob Iger said it would maintain the mature rating, but not much has been officially heard on the topic in a very long time. Until now.

In an interview with Collider, Marvel Studios CCO and president Kevin Feige has officially confirmed that DEADPOOL 3 will be an R rated movie.

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Feige also confirmed the third film in the DEADPOOL franchise will not start filming until 2022, at the earliest.
